Dry Wall Going Up
So, after the gauntlet, Aldrine was able to get to work hanging gypsum board. Mostly at night (LATE into the night) and mostly alone. Remember, the walls mostly got the 54" wide 12' sheets. Ceilings got 5/8" too.
You gotta admit, though, it's looking pretty good. He has to be the hardest working man I know. He's good, too.

Have your taper switch to USG Dust Control mud. It is the greatest thing in remodeling!
What you spend on it,(bout 50% more expensive than reg. premix) you will more than save in cleanup time.

Ugh. Drywall. My least favorite part of DIY jobs. I'm budgeting to hire someone on the next round we have to do, because some things are just worth the price of NOT having to do it yourself!

Aldrine was a joy to watch work. In the time it would have taken me to set up, he'd finish vast swaths of wall.
It's just not worth it to do yourself unless you have lots of time and you enjoy the process.
There's NO WAY we could have made it look as good as he did no matter how much time we had.
On big reno projects, hire a good (stress good) pro.
