Covington pushes rehab property program
COVINGTON - Covington has started using its $5 million federal grant to rehab foreclosed properties and wants more people to take advantage of the program.With some of the $5 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant, the city in January began offering down payment assistance for people to buy foreclosed property in the city's urban core. The city last week decided to offer down payment assistance citywide to encourage more people to use the program this summer before the September deadline for the city to use all the grant money.
